VA Harvest was established by three former schoolmates: all Virginians. We all own and operate diverse businesses and all of us had an interest in cannabinoids with a focus on CBD. VA Harvest was established by three former schoolmates: all Virginians. We all own and operate diverse businesses and all of us had an interest in cannabinoids with a focus on CBD. We decided to organize a facility to produce the best CBD products utilizing Virginia hemp. The market is full of makeshift operations that purport to produce “pure” product. Many of these fabricators work out of barns, garages and the like. Our goal was to initiate a professional plant based upon pharmaceutical guidelines.
We only use Virginia grown hemp. Hemp was first grown in Virginia in 1611. The plant thrived in the fertile soil and the sweet rain of the Old Dominion. Our Team
Bill Wingfield
Bill is a USMC veteran. Bill graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in chemistry and has 40 years of experience in applied science formulation and production. Bill is the inventor of the antimicrobial Chitosan-Ag Complex and has 7 chemical patents and is the author of several papers. He is a long-time member of the American Chemical Society and the Virginia Academy of Science. His work as director of the Virginia Section of the American Chemical Society during National Chemistry Week has been recognized nationally with several awards.
Robert Boyd
Robert has over 30 years of experience in business development, product development and operations management. He previously held leadership positions in chemical and specialty products manufacturing companies. His analytical background includes HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography), DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), TGA (thermogravimetric analysis) and FTIR (fourier transform infrared spectroscopy). Robert has regulatory expertise in FDA CGMP (current good manufacturing process) for medical devices and finished pharmaceuticals as well as medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging and distribution regulations. His achievements include; NASA's Paul F. Holloway Technology Award and Hampton Toads Technology Council: Excellence in Innovation Award. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Richmond and has expertise in Principles of lean Manufacturing.
